Foundation Adds Executive Director

THE BOSCO-MILLIGAN FOUNDATION AND ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE CENTER ADDS TO ITS EXECUTIVE TEAM TO PRESERVE OREGON’S HERITAGE

 

Portland, Ore. — (August 22, 2008) The Bosco-Milligan Foundation recently added to it’s executive team with the naming of Mark Granlund for the new position of Executive Director of the Architectural Heritage Center.  This move allows long-time Director Cathy Galbraith to focus on new advocacy and outreach initiatives as the Executive Director of the Bosco-Milligan Foundation.  

Bosco-Milligan Foundation Board Chair Joanne Carlson says Granlund will lead the day-to-day administration and fund development efforts of the organization, while Galbraith will lead more aggressive advocacy efforts, expanded exhibits and education programs, collections and conservation activities.  Galbraith will also oversee a new field services program in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Granlund whose seven-year tenure as executive director of the Washington County Historical Society and Museum stimulated program and exhibit growth and brought millions of dollars to support the facility, has nearly two decades of executive nonprofit leadership and fund development.

Galbraith has built a statewide reputation for her efforts in building preservation, conservation, and education. 

“Our board realized that it would take two exceptional leaders to enable the Bosco-Milligan Foundation and Architectural Heritage Center to fulfill our strategic goal — to involve and engage the public to address Oregon’s building preservation issues through education and advocacy,” says Carlson.

Both Granlund and Galbraith will be welcomed to their new roles at a 20th Anniversary Reunion Celebration for the Foundation to be held at the Architectural Heritage Center on September 13.  For more information, contact the center at (503) 231-7264.
